We’re going to launch full speed ahead into creativity next week. Today we’ll take a quick detour to do a Case Study. UGA is a nationally known research university, and this activity is part of a university-approved research study. Research is often conducted with students to help us better understand how students learn and improve teaching in the future. This particular study a two part activity. Part 1 is today, and Part 2 will come near the end of the semester.
Everyone will participate as part of your class participation grade, but because it’s a research activity, you have to decide if you will agree to have your responses analyzed (I hope so!!). I will distribute and explain the consent forms, and ask you to sign one if you agree. Then you’ll answer the questions on this form. Don’t worry…. your answers will not count against you in any way!
Do your best even though it may be challenging! Once you’re done, you’re free to go. It may take you as long as 30-40 minutes to answer the two questions. Strive to write about 3 or 4 paragraphs per question. The researcher needs about 350 words per question in order for the analysis to work.
Homework (Reminder)
Read chapter 5 (Supporting Student Creativity). Complete the Reading Guide linked here. This is due Wednesday at the beginning of class. You can email it (with a clear subject line) or turn in a hard copy.
